Set in the hills overlooking Cannes, this Provençal residence is a study in discreet integration, demonstrating how cutting-edge technology can be introduced into a period property while preserving its architectural character.

For this project, we developed a considered lighting scheme that enhances the home’s traditional interiors, combining recessed Orluna architectural lighting with a mix of aged-bronze and corten steel fittings selected to complement the Lutron Alisse keypads and the natural tones of the stone walls. Every detail was carefully considered to ensure the technology felt intrinsic to the property rather than imposed upon it.

With more than 20 zones of distributed audio, including five across the grounds alone, entertainment extends effortlessly from the interiors into the surrounding landscape. Sonance architectural, invisible and landscape speakers deliver high-fidelity sound throughout the property, with each installation carefully integrated to maintain a clean, understated aesthetic.

In the main living space, we collaborated with the joinery team to create a bespoke, wall-to-wall media unit to conceal an 85-inch television. An automated panel reveals the display at the touch of a button, complemented by a custom-width James Loudspeaker soundbar for a refined, high-performance entertainment experience.

The centrepiece of the project, however, lies behind a seemingly ordinary bookcase. Inspired by the intrigue of a classic James Bond film, a concealed mechanism activated by a specific book reveals a private, eight-seater cinema.

Designed around a rich Cannes-inspired red palette and finished with bespoke cinema seating, the room was created for a client with a genuine passion for film and an extensive personal collection. Performance was paramount: a reference-grade M&K Sound speaker system, powered and processed by StormAudio, delivers an immersive cinematic experience through 15 speakers and four subwoofers, all discreetly concealed behind acoustically transparent fabric walls.

The result is a residence where heritage and innovation coexist effortlessly, from the subtle warmth of the lighting to a cinema hidden in plain sight. Every element has been designed to respect the architecture, elevate the experience and reveal its full potential only when required.
